Thank you so much to Marlon Gray and Caroline Berry from the City University careers team for inviting me to deliver a lecture on ‘The Art of Networking’ as part of the City LLB2 Employability Module for second year undergraduate law students.

At a time when many people’s faith in politics to “do good” is being shattered by current events in the Middle East, hearing from Lord Paul Boateng – with whom I shared a Black History Month panel at London South Bank University – was a tonic.

One of the original pioneering Black Labour MPs who entered the House of Commons in 1987, Lord Boateng reminded students, guests and fellow panellists why activism & justice still matter.
