Well done to the Mayor of London, the non-Tory members of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, the trade unions, the churches, and thousands of decent Londoners for standing up to the London Tories, and opposing their disgraceful decision, to try and block a living wage for London Fire Brigade’s hard working – and predominantly female – cleaners.

Cruddas for Deputy – the Final Push!
It’s now less than a week to go until the Labour Party will announce who its MPs, members and trade union affiliates have chosen to become our party’s next Deputy Leader.
Last night, I spent a couple of hours at the Unite (Amicus) HQ to continue telephone canvassing for Jon Cruddas.
It was incredible how many people still hadn’t voted.
There is definitely everything to play for in this contest and so I’ll try and make sure I get along to the phone banks at least one more time before Friday, to help get the Cruddas vote out.
If you haven’t voted yet, I’d urge you to cast your first preference vote for Jon Cruddas who is, put simply, the best candidate for the job.
