Mr Speaker’s Windrush 75 Reception
Thank you so much to Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons, for inviting me to his Windrush 75 reception in the Speaker’s House.
Sir Lindsay and Baroness Floella Benjamin gave very powerful speeches to celebrate the Windrush Generation AND support Windrush Justice.
It was also wonderful to see so many old (and new!) friends – including Patrick Vernon, Chair of the Windrush 75 Network, and Sunder Katwala, Director of British Future. Congratulations to Patrick and Sunder in particular for their incredible leadership of Windrush 75.
My Colleagues in Chambers
I’m really lucky to have such supportive barrister colleagues in Chambers. Now that Covid’s finally on the wane, I’m looking forward to seeing a lot more of them!
Justice for the Windrush Generations 2
It was good to be invited back to the House of Commons, on Wednesday 17th May 2023, to again represent the Windrush Justice Clinic and speak on the panel of the Justice for the Windrush Generations bimonthly rally.
What is great about JfWG rallies is the cross-party support they attract. Wednesday’s event was attended by Marsha de Cordova MP and Richard Burgon MP for Labour and Duwayne Brooks for the Conservatives.
A big thank you again to Garrick Prayogg and Roland Houslin for the invitation to return.
2023 British Basketball League Finals
A wonderful day out at the O2 arena, with Bell and Delroy, cheering on the London Lions to victory in the British Basketball League finals.
