Pakistan Earthquake Fundraiser
Congratulations to Delta Club Director, Afzal Akram, who organised a well attended fundraiser at Walthamstow Assembly Hall to raise money for the Kashmir earthquake relief effort. I successfully bid for a giant Leyton Orient T Shirt ( I live next to the stadium). Who knows, if they get promoted next season you might just see me proudly wandering around in it!
“We were there too” – Score hosts exhibition about African & Caribbean people in the War
The Score Community Building in Oliver Rd, Leyton, played host to an important new exhibition in December. The “We Were There Too” photographic display was organised by the Waltham Forest African Caribbean Women’s Development Centre to commemorate the contribution of African & Caribbean men and women who fought in the Second World War.
