Save the Stow!
THURSDAY 7TH AUGUST 2008 PM UPDATE:
The local Guardian is reporting that an “SOS” meeting with the stadium’s new owners and “Save the Stow” campaigners will soon go ahead.
Former England Footie International – and local boy – Teddy Sheringham, has joined the campaign and will lead a march around the track in protest at the Stow’s threatened closure.
This is excellent news!

FRIDAY AUGUST 15TH 2008 UDPATE: Does anyone know if there are any ‘Save Our Stow’ T-Shirts? Could you let me know if you do. Ta!
Job Opportunity with Masquerade 2000!

Masquerade 2000, a top class costume and steel band that participates in the annual Notting Hill carnival, is looking for a person to help them stitch costumes for this year’s carnival.
Masquerade 2000 is a charity but they can pay the right person £7 an hour for a 30 hour week. The group is based in Leyton.
I think this year’s Notting Hill carnival is going to be superb and Masquerade 2000 will – yet again – be right at the heart of the action!
If you know how to sew, love Notting Hill carnival and steel pan music, please contact me so I can put you in touch with Masquerade 2000!
Yes We Can!!!!!!
From Boyhood to Manhood
Completely alarmed at this news.
Over the last couple of years I’ve been honoured enough to get to know some of the guys running the project.
‘From Boyhood to Manhood’ has been so positive for Black boys in South London that Black Londoners with an interest in youth issues have flocked to talk to them, hoping to pick up tips and best practice about the project’s success.
The Government really needs to sort its priorities out.
