For the past three weeks, I have been obsessed with the Mozart Requiem.
My neighbours probably wondered why they heard me singing the alto part at all hours of the day and night.
It’s because I was practising for the debut performance of the Requiem by the new Leytonstone Chorale (of which I’m now a member) with the London Gala Orchestra.
I am not a natural singer (I’m more comfortable playing my cello) but I really enjoyed the rehearsals and the performance on the night.
I’m so grateful to Peter Scott, Music Director at St John’s Leytonstone (pictured with me above), for encouraging me to sing and to Stephen Ellery, our superb conductor.
